The key features of both the Swampfox Liberty and Justice Red Dot Sights are quite impressive.
- Green or Red Reticle: When purchasing a Liberty or Justice Red Dot Sight, you can choose between red or green dot.
- Multi-Coated Lens: Liberty and Justice comes with multi-coated lenses for improved clarity and light transmission. The lens has anti-fog, anti-scratch, and hydrophobic coatings. Each emitter is paired with a specific lens color to optimize battery life.
- 10 Illumination Settings: Each red dot has 8 daylight settings and 2 night-vision compatible settings.
- Narrow Profile: These red dot sights have a narrower and shorter profile than Swampfox’s Kingslayer series. These make them sleeker and lighter.
- Shake N’ Wake Technology: This is a really cool feature for me. When you don’t move your firearm for an extended period, the reticle automatically switches off. When you’re ready to use the red dot, just touch the red dot or move the firearm, and the red dot comes back on.
- RMR footprint: Liberty and Justice share an RMR footprint, which means I’ll enjoy several mounting options. For example, by using a simple Picatinny adapter, I can mount the optics on shotguns, rifles, and pistols with a Picatinny top rail. If I use an LPVO setup, Liberty and Justice can be used with a 45-degree offset.
- Top-loading Battery: Changing batteries is easy because the cover is located on top; I don’t have to remove the sight to change the battery. The battery compartment is sealed with a rubber o-ring, preventing moisture from coming in. The battery can be changed using an S-wing tool.
- Durability: Liberty and Justice are suited for high-movement, all-weather action. The aluminum chassis is tough yet lightweight.
These outstanding features make the Liberty and Justice sights a valuable addition to any shooting arsenal.

Reviewing the Swampfox Liberty and Justice Red Dot Sights
I’ve thoroughly tested these features in various conditions and on different firearms, providing valuable insights into what these red dot sights have to offer.
The Swampfox Liberty and Justice optics showcase a 3 MOA red dot. This provides a clear and precise focal point that’s neither too large to obstruct the target at long distances nor too small to locate quickly. However, I do prefer sights that have multiple reticule types; single dots are just a tad limited for me.
The dot’s brightness can be easily adjusted with ten levels to accommodate different lighting conditions. Even in bright daylight, the dot remains clearly visible when set to maximum brightness. Additionally, the auto mode utilizes an ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the brightness.
Throughout my range testing, I found that the reticle maintained its sharpness and clarity, which speaks to the superior quality of Swampfox’s glass and coatings.
How do the illumination settings of the Swampfox Liberty and Justice red dot sights perform in real-world use? From my experience, I found them to be quite impressive.
Both sights offer ten levels of brightness, allowing for optimal visibility in different shooting conditions. Two of the settings are night-vision compatible. The Liberty and Justice sights are designed with an easy-to-use interface, making it simple to adjust the brightness settings.
I observed no noticeable blooming or flickering at any brightness level. Their ability to maintain a consistent dot brightness, regardless of ambient light, speaks to their exceptional engineering.
The ‘Shake ‘N Wake’ technology, which automatically turns the optic on or off based on movement to conserve battery life. I can confidently say that this feature worked flawlessly during my testing.
In my assessment, the accuracy of the Swampfox Liberty and Justice red dot sights lives up to the tale. The red dot provided a clear and sharp image, making it easy to acquire targets with precision. Even when dealing with moving targets, the sights performed exceptionally well, allowing for effortless tracking.
The windage and elevation adjustments were simple to use and remained consistent, ensuring accuracy over time and in various shooting conditions. This was especially evident during rapid-fire sessions, where the sights maintained zero flawlessly.
If you’re a competitive shooter, I suggest getting the Justice. During my testing, I found out that the larger window on the Justice model facilitated faster sight acquisition. I was also able to see not just the target but the surrounding areas even with my peripherals.
For those in search of dependable and precise red dot sights, the Swampfox Liberty and Justice are highly recommended.
The lenses of the Swampfox Liberty and Justice red dot sights are instrumental components that contribute to their their accuracy. The lenses have multi-coated anti-fog and anti-scratch coating, which provides a clear sight picture, making it easy to acquire targets quickly and accurately. These lenses also have excellent anti-glare features. Targets and surroundings are clearly visible, and the reduced glare allows uninterrupted peripheral awareness.
The Liberty has a 1x22mm lens size, perfect for concealed or everyday carry. If you’re into competition and sports, get the the Justice, which has a larger 1x27mm lens size, catering to competitive shooting. Both lenses demonstrate outstanding light transmission, ensuring optimal visibility in both daylight and low-light conditions.
The lens is parallax free, which means the dot stays on the target no matter the position of my eye.
I did notice a minor issue with dot reflection on the lens, but it doesn’t seem to have a significant impact on the sight picture.
The Swampfox sights are built to last. Made from high-quality 7075 aluminum, these sights are both sturdy and lightweight.
I’ve tested these sights in various weather conditions (including a wayward blizzard) and they’ve proven to be highly durable. Even after rough handling and drops after running tactical courses, the Liberty and Justice models maintained their zero and performance. These sights are truly impressive, designed to withstand 1500Gs although I would say 800 G forces would be more accurate.
Additionally, their top-load battery design eliminates the need to re-zero after battery replacement, which is a testament to their thoughtful construction.
For added ruggedness and durability, you can purchase an IronSides shield for your Liberty or Justice.
The battery life of the Swampfox Liberty and Justice Red Dot Sights is quite remarkable, assuring the shooter of long operation. In my experience, the batterydelivered consistent performance for extended periods.
The manufacturer claims a battery life of up to 1 year on medium settings. Realistically though, it really depends on the brightness of the reticule. In my experience, I would say 8 to 10 months of regular shooting is more accurate. The electronics sap out the energy if the red dot is consistently used during noon-level brightness.
The Shake ‘N Wake technology is helps conserves battery life when the sight isn’t in use, ensuring maximum usage with minimal energy waste.
These optics have a convenient top-load battery design; this location means you don’t need to re-zero after replacing the battery. Because of the design, battery replacement process is straightforward and hassle-free.
Windage and Elevation Adjustments
I’ve found that their windage and elevation adjustments of both Liberty and Justice are highly efficient, with just a minor setback. The adjustments are clearly marked in MOA and can be easily made using the included wrench. What’s impressive is the immediate and precise shift in the aim point, allowing for quick and accurate adjustments.
However, there’s a slight drawback in terms of tactile feedback. Unlike other sights, these adjustments lack the satisfying ‘click’ that indicates a change. As a result, you need to pay close attention to ensure accuracy.
Despite this, the sight retains zero remarkably well even after recoil. Overall, the Swampfox Liberty and Justice offer reliable and effective windage and elevation adjustments, although a tactile improvement would further enhance the user experience.
These sights are designed with a universally compatible RMR footprint, allowing for easy installation on a wide range of firearms. This is great news for gun enthusiasts looking for versatility.
The thoughtful design by Swampfox ensures a hassle-free mounting process without the need for any special tools or adaptors. The sights fit securely on firearms like Glock and AR-15, providing stability even during recoil.
Another advantage is their compact size, which doesn’t detract from the aesthetics of the firearms.
Performance on Pistols
I have tested both the Liberty and Justice sights on various pistols, and I must say, I’m impressed with their performance. The Liberty sight offers a clear and precise sight picture with its 1x22mm window, making it incredibly easy to acquire targets quickly. The Justice sight has a larger 1x27mm window, providing a wider field of view that’s perfect for high-pressure situations where split-second decisions matter in a competition.
These sights can hold the zero, even after firing hundreds of rounds and enduring rough handling. Adjusting the windage and elevation is a straightforward process, with each click resulting in a noticeable shift in the point of impact.
Overall, these sights are top performers in their class, delivering reliable and accurate performance.
Performance on Rifles
After testing these sights on pistols, I decided to try out the Swampfox Liberty and Justice optics on my AR-15 and Benelli M4. The results were just as impressive, although I would prefer larger and heavier sights for bigger firearms.
The Justice model, with its larger window, provided a wide field of view that was perfect for quickly acquiring targets. On the other hand, the Liberty model, although smaller, offered precise shooting capabilities, making it ideal for long-distance targeting that required careful calculation.
Both optics performed exceptionally well in different lighting conditions, with their brightness settings being responsive and effective. The rugged construction of these sights held up against recoil, ensuring that zero was maintained throughout my testing.
Conceal Carry and EDC
These sights are compact and practical, making them an excellent choice for EDC. Both are great, but the Liberty, with its 1x22mm window, fits better on a handgun, maintaining a low profile while still being functional.
The RMR footprint ensures compatibility with various firearms, adding to their versatility. While there may be occasional issues with dot reflection, overall, these red dot sights are well-constructed, provide clarity, and have reliable battery life, making them a valuable addition to any EDC setup.
Overall real world performance
Overall, I’ve found their performance in real-world scenarios to be exceptional. These sights have proven to be durable, reliable, and accurate.
The reticle provides excellent clarity and enhances target acquisition in all light conditions. The Liberty model, with its compact 1x22mm window—about the width of a 9mm double-stack Glock slide—-makes it ideal for platforms that are intended to be concealed.
The Justice model, with its larger 1x27mm window, excels in quickly acquiring targets during competitions. It’s ideal for larger platforms such as shotguns and rifles.
Although there may be occasional dot reflection, overall, these sights are of high quality, combining ruggedness, versatility, and a user-friendly design.
Compatibility with Other Firearms
Both Liberty and Justice sights are incredibly versatile when it comes to firearm compatibility.
